Q: Isn't CrossFit dangerous?
A: There has never been a flaw in the methodology of CrossFit, but there can be a flaw in the application of the program. CrossFit is an incredibly effective program because it utilizes movements that are multi-joint movements that require adequate mobility, strength, and coordination. Individuals or gyms may expose new athletes to these demands prematurely and cause injury by not allowing the athlete to develop appropriately. This is why R.D.T. developed the Foundations program to ensure a solid foundation for each new athlete as they start their own CrossFit journey.
Q: Why is CrossFit more expensive than a regular gym membership?
A: A membership to a CrossFit gym will not simply give you access to a gym. You will be provided with daily programming that will optimize results, getting you stronger and more physically fit then you have ever been. You NEVER have to ask yourself, "What am I going to do at the gym today?" You will also have complete access to multiple coaches, whose job is to get to know you and your fitness goals. They will constantly be monitoring your movement and coaching you throughout the duration of every class. The CrossFit experience is unlike any other fitness experience you've ever had. We guarantee you will value your membership at or above what is being charged. Not to mention the CrossFit community will become like your second family.
Q: What if I've never done CrossFit before?
A: That is perfectly OK! We would love for you to start your CrossFit journey with us, and ultimately start you on your journey to becoming the most fit version of yourself. (Most likely the most fit you've ever been!) Our Foundations course is the perfect place to start. This twice a week, four week course (8 classes) will help build the foundation necessary for you to become a CrossFitter. Learn more about all our programs offered under the Programs tab above!
Q: What if I've never worked out before?
A: We would LOVE to have you! Our coaches are qualified to not only ensure you are safe, but ensure you are working at your capacity. They will help you in choosing the appropriate scaled workout for you every single day. We are so passionate about changing people's lives, that if we can get you to start working out for the first time ever AT ANY AGE, we would be honored! No need to be intimidated. The culture of our gym will be to come as you are and just get 1% better every day.
Q: What type of equipment is used in CrossFit?
A: CrossFit utilizes a variety of equipment including dumbbells, kettle bells, barbells, bumper plates, wall balls, wooden boxes, gymnastics rings, rowers, assault bikes, and more! These are used in various combinations making for workouts that are constantly varied, keeping working out fun and challenging!
Q: What if I'm not sure about joining and just want to check out the space and see what it's all about?
A: Your first session is FREE! Come on in, meet our members and coaches, and check out our facility. We would be more than happy to discuss what you are looking for in a gym and determine if we are the right fit for you!
